| Description Dahlias begin blooming in early summer and continue blooming through fall; the flower production may slow with high summer temperatures. Dahlias are sensitive to freezing temperatures; plant them in your garden only after you're sure the frosty nights are over. Select a sunny location protected from strong winds to plant your Dahlias. There are at least 36 species of Dahlias, the kind you grow in a garden are commonly a hybrid plant. Dahlias are often treated as annuals, but if you dig up them up after the first frost kills the stems and leaves they can be replanted the following year. | |
